Thank you!

I am very honored to be voted into my second term on Naperville’s city council and would like to thank all who supported me. With your overwhelming support I can now continue to work on behalf of all of Naperville for four more years!

I would also like to thank Jim Boyajian and Dick Furstenau for their many years of service to this community. I have been fortunate to serve with both of them for several years and have learned a great deal from both of them. They both brought their own perspective to council and have influenced policy in many positive ways. I wish them both well in the future.

With the addition of two new Councilmen, Steve Chirico and Joe McElroy, we will quickly get to work as a team to address the issues that we face as a community. I have known both of them for quite some time and expect they will bring a great deal of talent to council. I congratulate both of them on their respective victories!

I would also like to thank all of my supporters who worked on my campaign. We ran a good, clean, positive race and I appreciate all the hard work you all put in to getting me re-elected. Because of your efforts I can now get back to work serving a community that I truly love.

Thanks again to you all!

Dear Neighbor,

Over the past four years it has been my honor to serve all of Naperville as your Councilman. I have taken my role as steward of both the public trust and public dollar very seriously and thank you for the trust you have placed in me. We have faced many issues and challenges over those four years and I have strived to be an active listener, collaborative worker and problem solver while doing what is in the best interest of all of Naperville.

As a life-long resident I have a great appreciation for all this community stands for; family, volunteerism, free-enterprise and hard work that leads to positive results. We have all faced many challenges recently due to the economy in all aspects of our lives. I am proud to say that as a City we addressed these issues directly and swiftly. The easy solution to our fiscal shortfall would have been to just raise taxes or fees. That is something that I have not supported. Instead, my focus has been, and will continue to be, how we can streamline city government to live within the taxes and fees already collected. As families, homeowners and businesses we have all had to make adjustments in how we run things, government should do the same! As a City we now find ourselves leaner, more efficient and focused on fiscal sustainability. We have been able to limit the size of government while still providing the high level of service that we all have come to expect. As a board member of the Naperville Development Partnership we have been focusing on filling the storefronts and bringing high quality jobs to the Naperville area. By following these philosophies we now find ourselves ready to springboard into better days!

Naperville is truly a great place! It is the place that I have been lucky enough to call home for 42 years and the place I have chosen to raise my family. As I deliberate on the issues as a Councilman it has been with the focus of making Naperville a better place for all of us to live, work and yes, play!

Naperville has always been a very engaged community and I appreciate the effort made by you in visiting this website to see where I stand on the issues. I will periodically update this site with the latest information possible. I would be grateful for your support in re-electing me to the Naperville City Council on April 5th.

Respectfully,
